Current FTCNS students and their older siblings (up to age 7) are invited to school for a drop-off evening of play, pizza and a show hosted by FTCNS teachers and parent volunteers from the Family Support Committee. Dinner + A Show is available to families regardless of ability to pay. To break even, there is a suggested donation of $25 per child which covers teacher payment, space rental, and dinner. Donations can be any amount; there is no minimum (or maximum!). QuickPay/Zelle your donation to Kate at businessmanager@ftcns.org. Please note “Dinner + A Show” on the memo.

Please note that while all FTCNS students are welcome at Dinner + A Show the event is closer to Lunch Bunch than our core classes. For younger Junipers especially please consider the event timings and your child’s ability to separate and cope in a lively mixed-age environment before signing up. You know your child best! Families Together parent and chocolatier Katherine Duncan is offering a sweet giveback just in time for Mother's Day at her store, Katherine Anne Confections!
All day on Saturday, May 2, 20% of sales will go to Families Together when you mention FTCNS. Valid at either Chicago store, 3653 W. Irving Park Road (8 am-7 pm) or 2745 W. Armitage Avenue (10 am-7 pm). Katherine Anne Confections is also participating in the Irving Park neighborhood Mother’s Day Hop from 12-4 pm that day. Check out local businesses, buy some chocolates, and support FTCNS at the same time! Pick up a map at the store, and ride the free trolley, bike, walk, or drive around the neighborhood to see what Irving Park has to offer.
About Katherine Anne Confections
In the fall of 2006, Katherine Anne Confections launched in 2006 and in 2012 Katherine opened her cafe in Logan Square. In 2023, she expanded to the Irving Park neighborhood with a larger facility and espresso bar. The company offers wholesale, corporate gifts, chocolate and wine pairings, truffle-making classes, s’mores toastings and hot chocolate bar activations, and custom designed sweets. Katherine Anne Confections works with local farmers for their Jersey cream, Midwest fruits, honey, and seasonal ingredients.

Super Size Art Enrichment Class 5/6
Super Size Art Enrichment Class 5/6

Super Size Art is a creative art class where children explore concepts of big, bigger, and biggest through hands-on projects. Children will experiment with relative size as they paint giant murals, build tall collaborative sculptures, and create art that’s larger than life. This class encourages teamwork, imagination, and joyful self-expression—on a super-sized scale!
Super Size Art is open to current/alumni students as well as children who do not attend FTCNS, ages 3 1/2 to 6. The class will be taught by Families Together Teachers Molly Roudebush and Jill Victorine.
Super Size Art meets Tuesdays from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at Families Together Cooperative Nursery School on April 7, 14, 21, 28 and May 5, 12, 2026.
If interested, complete this application. Payment can be submitted when a spot is confirmed. Spots will be filled on a first come, first served basis. If a spot is confirmed, payment in full will be due by April 1, 2026.

Climate Explorers: Water & Weather is an engaging STEM enrichment class where curious learners discover water science through play and exploration. Children will learn how to care for our planet as they explore weather, waves, plumbing, and more through hands-on activities, water play, and simple science experiments. This class nurtures curiosity, environmental awareness, and a love for learning about our Earth. Each class will explore a theme/topic and include open-ended play, group projects, science experiments, and storytelling.
Climate Explorers: Water & Weather is open to current/alumni students as well as children who do not attend FTCNS, ages 4 to 6. The class will be taught by Families Together Director, Ann Gadzikowski, and Teacher, Kirsten Ruckdeschel.

You and your child are invited to make beautiful messes with playdough, paint, glue, water, and more! Learn about the benefits of sensory play and how our play-based, emergent curriculum supports children’s development starting at age 2 ½.
Messy Morning Playtime is for children ages 2-3 (age 2 by 3/1/26) and their adult caregiver(s) who are still looking at preschool options for 2026-2027. The event will be held Saturday, May 23 from 9 to 10 a.m. at Families Together, 1500 W. Elmdale, Chicago, IL 60660. This event is free of charge.
