November 8, 2025 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm Immanuel Lutheran Chicago, Edgewater, 1500 W Elmdale Ave, Chicago, IL 60660, USA The Family Support Committee invites you to join us for Cookies, Cocoa, and Clothing (+toys!)! This year our clothing and toy swap takes on a new format. Families can sign up for a table where they can bring children’s clothing, toys, and books to give away. Each family will bring their items at the start of the event and take anything left at the end home with them. No need to staff your table the whole time. Just bring your items and we'll have a table for you, plus pre-written labels that could be used to organize your table if you wish (though no fancy setup necessary)! Multiple families are welcome to share a table. You don’t have to bring items to take items. Then, hang out and have cookies and cocoa with us! Sign up sheet link in Weekly Update. A few things to note: While Family Support organizes this event, the co-op puts on the event! We need some volunteers for the sign in table, kids area, setup, and cleanup. You do not need to find a family to share a table with (unless you want to!) On the sign-up you can specify if you need half of a long rectangular table or a whole one. You don't have to sign-up for a table or bring anything to come "shop" around, have snacks, and socialize! We're hoping this can be a relaxing time for our community to get together for snacks and visiting as well as looking for some new clothes for our always growing kids. There will be a kids corner with toys and art for the kids to play! You do NOT have to sit at your table though you are welcome to. We'lll also be having cookies and cocoa! Please see the signup sheet to bring some of your family's favorite cookies or other baked goods to share. When planning what to bring, we ask you to label all baked goods for the presence of egg and that there are no nuts or nut products, flax seed and sesame used. See more details •	9

It was in this little classroom that my child got to experience “school” for the first time, in the most beautiful sense of the word. This little classroom where everything is, quite honestly, just right. Just the way it should be. Full of passion and creativity; song and movement; exploration and encouragement. This is what preschool should be. And I’m the lucky mom who made the choice to set my kids up for success and joy by giving them the absolute best start to school that any kid could get.

We all see what’s here, the amazing teachers and staff who are treated fairly and with respect. The incredible classrooms and the wonderful hours we all spend here. The community that supports each other ways I’ve never seen before. But Families Together has done so much more than that for us. it has been an honor and a privilege to have been part of it for so long.

At Families Together our son is gently and joyfully challenged to explore new ideas. The "emergent curriculum" takes into consideration the students' interests and honors their natural sense of curiosity. Our son is also learning how to work with others, advocate for himself and peacefully work through peer-conflicts. But, best of all, he wakes up every day excited to go to school!
