Classes for Fall 2024

Families Together offers Enrichment classes: Acorns Nature Play is a 10 week class offered in fall of 2024.

Acorns Nature Play

Fridays – 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. for 10 weeks beginning September 13

Open to 2024-2025 enrolled FTCNS students, ages 3 to 5.

Outdoor nature play benefits children in so many important ways – Children exercise their bodies, breathe fresh air, engage in fun social interactions, explore nature and science, and learn to care for our environment.

Our fall Acorns class will meet outdoors for ten classes, Friday mornings from 9/13/24 to 11/15/24. Activities include joyous open-ended play in the great outdoors as well as nature projects such as caring for our community garden, journaling and sketching, creating and acting out stories, and taking sensory walks.

Class will begin most days across the street at the Senn Park playground. Some classes will take place at other green spaces around the neighborhood.

Fee: $500 per session ($50 per class). No refunds will be issued for missed classes. (For families with a 2023 Adjusted Gross Income of less than $45,000, a limited number of 50% financial aid waivers are available).

Apply online by August 15, 2024 (24-25 FTCNS students, ages 3-5 only). If interest is greater than spots available, a blind lottery will be conducted. Once a spot in Acorns is confirmed, payment in full will be due by August 22, 2024.

Music Engineering

Wednesdays – 3:30 to 5 p.m. for 6 weeks beginning October 2

We’ll demonstrate instruments and experiment with making percussion sounds and rhythms as well as wind, string, and electronic music. Children will be encouraged to collaborate, compose, and make music together using their own inventions.
