Meet Required Training Hours with the FTCNS Teacher Institute!
Families Together Cooperative Nursery School (FTCNS) has established a Teacher Institute that offers quality, engaging professional development experiences for early childhood educators. Designed with busy teachers in mind, our online workshops use real-world examples from our classrooms to instruct, inspire, and inform. Workshops are self-paced (asynchronous) and meet the standards for professional learning as required by the Illinois Professional Development System, Gateways to Opportunity.
FTCNS director and award-winning author Ann Gadzikowski has designed the workshop curriculum. Ann has designed and published professional development curricula for organizations including the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), Northwestern University, and Great First Eight.
The Teacher Institute approach to professional learning offers a refreshing balance between theory and practice and an engaging mix of both easy-to-read text and multimedia content.
Our debut workshop – Introduction to Emergent Curriculum-FREE
Introduction to Emergent Curriculum is intended for teachers who are new to emergent curriculum practices and would like introductory information about the value of an emergent approach as well as practical guidance for how to begin implementing emergent curriculum practices.
Engaging video, images, explanations, and scenarios bring the workshop ideas to life. The workshop answers three key questions:
“What is an emergent curriculum?”
“What are the benefits of an emergent curriculum?”
“How do I begin implementing an emergent curriculum?”
This course is being offered for free. You can find more information and sign up for Families Together Teacher Institute courses HERE.
